The Ministry of Finances announced on Friday that in the first four months of 2014, the primary surplus came to 1.046 billion euros, exceeding the goal of 742 million euros.

Concerns have been raised though over an estimated 7.1% drop in net revenue, which came to 13,842 million euros. The total sum of tax revenue was 12,588 million euros, about 3.1% than the government’s goal.

Additionally, the state budget expenses came to 17,282 million euros and were about 578 million euros less than the 17,861 million euro goal. The regular budge expenses were also reduced by 1,448 million euros (8.4%) compared to 2013.

The public investment budget expenses of 1,398 million euros were found to be about 398 million euros more than the 1-billion-euro goal and about 562 million euros more than the previous year’s expenses.
