Greece’s top basketball clubs – back-to-back European champion Olympiacos and six-time Euroleague winner Panathinaikos – are facing off Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow on Friday evening respectively, for a spot in this year’s Euroleague Final 4 in Milan.

Although no team has ever managed to break the home advantage in the history of the Euroleague play offs, both teams have accepted the challenge, confident after the latest performances tied the play off series 2-2.

If successful, Panathinaikos will face Maccabi Tel Aviv, while Olympiacos will be paired with Barcelona in the Final Four finals (16-18 May). The possibility of an all-Greek Final 4 final, while unlikely, will certainly please European basketball fans, as both teams have dominated the Euroleague and won five of the past seven trophies.
