epa04279644 Egyptian policemen stand guard in the area where a home-made bomb went off near a court in the Heliopolis district, Cairo, Egypt, 25 June 2014. Two crude bombs went off at stations of the Cairo subway system, leaving three people injured, police said. The apparently synchronized explosions occurred at the Shubra al-Kheima and Ghamra stations in northern and eastern Cairo respectively. Police said explosives experts had defused a third bomb at the station of Hadayek al-Quba near the presidential palace. Egypt has seen a spate of attacks, targeting mainly security forces since July when the army deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, the country's first democratically elected president.
