Olympiacos was close to achieving a huge away victory, however a two-minute black out in the second half of the game allowed Italian champions Juventus to turn the game around.

The game at the Juventus Stadium in Turin saw both teams excel, with Juventus dominating possession but unable to overcome the Greek defense. Unfortunately for the Piraeus side, Maniatis fouled Pogba outside the box, giving the opportunity to Pirlo to score a goal on his 100th game in the Champions League.

The Greek team was quick to respond though, with defender Botía equalizing the game with a header from a corner kick. With the game tied 1-1 in the first half, both teams entered the second half determined. Olympiacos appeared to come on top, after midfielder N’Dinga’s header (61’) put the “Reds” ahead in the game.

The Italians however managed to overturn the game in about two minutes, first with an own goal by Roberto (65’) and later with a power strike by Pogba (62’). Olympiacos was close to equalizing the game with Elabdellaoui (77’), but his shot was off target. Juventus responded with a few classic opportunities.

In the dying minutes of the game defensive midfielder Milivojević fouled Tévez in the penalty area, however Roberto managed to block the shot. This penalty save could prove to be gold for the reds, as in conjunction with Olympiacos’ 1-0 win in Piraeus two weeks ago, the Greek champions will have the upper hand in case of a tie with Juventus.
