A 34-year-old man and his 19-year-old partner appear to have murdered the 50-year-old man whose body was found at the Limanakia beach in Vouliagmeni about ten days ago.
According to the Police, the 50-year-old victim was friends with the two who are believed to suffer from drug addictions. The police investigation shows that the victim visited their home in Drapetsona, with the 19-year-old woman claiming that he attempted to assault her, at which point her partner came in and fought him.
The couple then drove him out to the beach in Varkiza, where they carried on assaulting the 50-year-old and set him on fire. When the couple returned to their home later on they tried to cover up what had transpired by getting rid of blood-stained furniture and painting over the walls.
After the police managed to identify the victim, they began investigating his friends. During the investigation it transpired that the couple had a heated quarrel in public, where they referred to an event at Limanakia. Upon closer investigation and questioning the couple confessed to the brutal crime.
