The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras argued that public administration in Greece is a “major patient” and underlined the need “to find a cure” during his speech at the National Center of Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA).

During his speech, the PM underlined the need to carry out meaningful reforms and restructuring in public administration, while arguing that a goal, plan and vision are needed to make this possible.

PM Tsipras referred to the debate on the “depoliticization” of public administration and pointed out that what was truly needed was for political parties to have less influence on public administration and to put an end to clientelism and cronyism.

The conference on public administration, democratic governing and social solidarity had been planned by the EKDDA in order to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
