The Kalypso freighter has reportedly run aground in a rocky area northwest of Edipsos on Evia, early on Wednesday morning. The Kalypso, with a crew of 9, was transferring laterite ore from Thessaloniki to Larymna.
The Cost Guard has dispatched a vessel in the area to help, with a tug-boat expected later on to assist in transporting the freighter to a safe dock.
