The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has found a 10.2% increase in building activity in February 2015, after six consecutive years of decline, according to the latest published divs.

According to ELSTAT’s provisional data, the total building activity (private-public), in the country as a whole -which is calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits in the country- amounted to 1,083. This div corresponds to 243.5 thousand m2 of surface and 1,083.8 thousand m3 of volume, reflecting respectively a 10.2% increase in the number of building permits, a 49.8% increase in surface and a 51,2% increase in volume, compared to the same month of 2014.

Private building activity in Greece as a whole, amounted to 1,074 building permits, corresponding to 222.2 thousand m2 of surface and 972.3 thousand m3 of volume. In comparison with the February of 2014, there is a 10.2% increase in the number of building permits, a 37.6% increase in surface and a 36.6% increase in volume.

Furthermore, public building activity in Greece as a whole in February 2015 amounted to 9 building permits, corresponding to 21.3 thousand m2 of surface and 111.5 thousand m3 of volume. Public building activity accounted for 10.3% of the total building volume in February 2015.
