The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest divs on non-resident arrivals from abroad for 2014, according to which there was a significant 23% increase from 2013.

ELSTAT’s divs show that arrivals from Europe (which account for 88.4% of total tourist arrivals) were up by 23.4%, while arrivals from EU members were up by 25.9% in 2014. The greatest increases, in absolute values, came from European countries: Bulgaria (121.8%), France (27.0%), Romania (94.8%), United Kingdom (13.2%), Serbia (26.6%), Poland (52.7%), Germany (8.5%) and Italy (15.9%).

The largest decrease of arrivals, in absolute values, observed in the cases of Russia (-7.6%) and Sweden (-8.4%). An increase of arrivals was also recorded from the other continents. A significant increase in arrivals was recorded from Asia (16.4%) with an increase in arrivals from Turkey (17.5%) and from America (18.0%) with a large increase from the USA (26.9%).
