The Greek statistics authority (ELSTAT) claims that the Greek gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.8% in 2014, according to its first estimation which was published on Friday.

ELSTAT’s report shows that in volume terms the GDP in 2013 was 185.1 billion euros, which rose to 186.5 billion euros in 2014, reflecting the 0.8% increase. In market terms though, the GDP dropped from 182.4 billion euros in 2013 to 179.1 billion euros in 2014, marking a 1.8% reduction.

The published report indicates that it took into account the quarterly results of the past year and that a second, revised estimation will be published on the 9th of October 2015.
