The criteria for the social dividend have been expanded, in order for a greater range of households to qualify for. According to the new criteria, the benefit will now be made available to families with an annual income of 7,050 euros, from 6,000 euros previously.

The decision came after the Deputy Minister of Finances Christos Staikouras met with the Deputy Minister of Labor Vasilis Kegeroglou, the newly-appointed General Secretary of Public Revenue Katerina Savvaidou, along with Philippos Sahinidis, Giorgos Koutroumanis and Christos Protopappas.

After the meeting, it was decided to increase the maximum income from 6,000 to 7,050 euros, which in turn increases according to the number of children. This means that a family with two children can now apply for the benefit if the annual combined income is 11,750 euros, up from 10,000 euros previously.
