The summer’s first heat wave has arrived, with temperatures expected to soar on Wednesday and Thursday, mainly in Thessaly, eastern Central Greece and Peloponnesus.
On Wednesday the temperature in Athens will reach 40 degrees centigrade, while in Thessaloniki it will be about 34 degrees.
Thursday is going to be the hottest day in the week, with temperature rising to 40-41 degrees centigrade in central Greece and 36-37 degrees in Athens and Thessaloniki.
The temperature will begin to subside on Friday, however the Aegean islands, Crete and the Dodecanese will suffer from high humidity levels.
