According to the latest data published by ELSTAT, the value of exports dropped by 20.8% in April 2014 compared to April 2013, with revenue dropping to 2.020 billion euros from 2.552 billion euros last year.

Meanwhile the value of exports amounted to 3.634 billion euros in April 2014, compared to 3.929 billion euros in April 2013, marking a 7.5% drop. Excluding oil products, the drop was estimated to be 3.8% (about 100 million euros).

Overall the total value of exports between January and April 2013 was 15.507 billion euros, about 1.6% less than last year’s 15.760 billion euro export revenue. Excluding oil products, the value of exports increased to 733.8 million euros (7.4%).

Finally, the trade balance deficit for April was found to be 1.613 billion euros versus 1.376 billion euros last year, marking a 17.2% increase, which was found to be 7.8%, if excluding oil products.
