The courts of Piraeus ordered the detainment of a 29-year-old Albanian man, in relation to the international heroin cartel that was busted in Philothei and Koropi.

The 29-year-old surrendered himself to the authorities after the bust in Philothei and according to the case file he appears to have opened the mansion gates to receive a shipment of heroin and received an SMS message from a 15-year-old who was also arrested on site.

Additionally, the 29-year-old man appears to face similar drug charges in Romania, in relation to a case involving 70 kilos of heroin.

Aside from the 29-year-old, the courts have ordered the detention of the 40-year-old ship owner Efthimios Giannousakis, his former wife and her partner and five Turkish nationals; Giannousakis’ 15-year-old son, along with his former mother-in-law and her housekeeper have been allowed to go free.
