The federation of administrative employees in higher education has announced a 48-hour strike for Thursday and Friday in response to the coalition government’s review plans and suspension/dismissal policy.

Administrative employees have occupied buildings of the Technical University of Athens and the University of Patra, while employees of the University of Athens will hold a critical assembly on Thursday, which may affect the academic semester.

While the newly-appointed Minister of Education and the Minister of Administrative Reform appear to have come to an agreement regarding controversial dismissals in higher education and staff reviews, the employees are not convinced that the government side will uphold the agreement
