The Economist has scheduled a roundtable discussion for the 9th and 10th of July in Athens, which will see world leaders and economists debate the latest developments in Europe and Greece.

According to the event program, speakers at the event include SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras, the IMF’s Poul Thomsen, the Minister of Finances Gikas Hardouvelis, while Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is scheduled to close the two-day event.

Amongst the many topics to be debated at the Economist’s event are the prior actions for the collection of a 1-billion-euro tranche from the IMF, the deadline of which the Greek government has missed.

With the critical debt relief talks with the troika scheduled to begin in September no major decisions are expected.
