The Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will be visiting Athens for three days on Tuesday, before returning to Istanbul on Friday.

On Tuesday the Ecumenical Patriarch will visit the Athens College where a documentary on the Sisli Cemetery in Istanbul. The event was organized to commemorate the restoration and preservation of 40 funerary monuments in the Cemetery.

The Ecumenical Patriarch will visit the Archbishop of Athens Ieronymos on Wednesday morning and in the evening he will inaugurate an international conference organized by the Athens Academy’s Environmental Health Center at the Herod Atticus Odeon.

On Thursday the Ecumenical Patriarch will visit the island of Hydra for the first time, where he will be declared an Honorary Citizen and will meet with the Bishop of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina Ephraim.
