The Deputy Minister of Finances Christos Staikouras announced that in the first quarter of 2014, from January to March, the primary surplus was estimated to be 711 million euros.
According to the official divs, the primary surplus about 500 million euros above the set target, suggesting that revenue collection efforts have improved.
Mr. Staikouras also revealed that the tax revenue during the same period was about 250 million euros above target.
