DIMAR MP Spyros Lykoudis gave a speech at a controversial event on Wednesday afternoon organized by party members where DIMAR leader Fotis Kouvelis had not been invited to attend. In his speech, Mr. Lykoudis attempted to address his party’s electoral result and argued that DIMAR’s future lies in participating in an attempt coalesce and rebuilt the Center Left.

Mr. Lykoudis stressed that it is imperative to take the necessary initiatives and begin discussions with other like-minded parties, namely the Olive Tree and The River. The MP further proposed creating a joint committee with members from the Olive Tree, The River and DIMAR in order to initiate “an honest, frank and open discussion, without terms and preconditions, for the reconstruction of the new great hope”.

Amongst those present at Wednesday’s event were The River’s president Stavros Theodorakis, the Olive Tree’s MEP candidate Pantelis Kapsis and a variety of DIMAR officers.
