The Ministry of Labor is preparing to announce a program for 50,000 community service jobs in various public sector bodies, which will come into effect by early September.

The Ministry’s program will be similar to a community service program from 2013, where 49,761 unemployed registered with OAED were employed for five months.

During the five-month employment, beneficiaries over the age of 27 receive 19.6 euros per day up for a maximum of 490 euros per month, while those aged 25 and bellow receive 17.1 euros per day, for a maximum of 427 euros per month.

In order to apply for the Ministry’s program, registered OAED applicants must either belong to a family where every member is registered as unemployed with OAED (including single-parent families), be aged 18 to 19, a university graduate] or be long-term unemployed.
