Tragedy struck at a baptism in Aspra Spitia, Viotia after a 55-year-old man died from salmonella poisoning, two others are currently hospitalized in a critical condition.

According to lamiareport.gr 38 guests at the recent baptism suffered from severe gastroenteritis with symptoms of salmonella poisoning. Although it has yet to be determined what caused the mass food poisoning, it appears that feta cheese may be offered at the banquet may be to blame.

The 55-year-old man was rushed to a hospital in Athens, however he was unable to recover. Reports suggest that his 23-year-old is also in a critical condition and being hospitalized in Lamia, along with another guest at the baptism.
