The employees at the ports of Piraeus and Thessaloniki are continuing with their strike actions for the 16th consecutive day, after their unions launched 48-hour rolling strikes.

With the privatization of both port authorities looming, the employees demand reassurances that their working conditions and relations will not change. With the tourist season in Greece escalating, the president of OLP Yannis Kouvaris revealed that a number cruise lines have complained over the strikes.

OLP’s board of directors has arranged to meet at the Athens Stock Exchange on Friday in order to discuss the privatization and possible solutions to mediate reactions. OLP employees are demonstrating outside the stock exchange.
