The redistribution of wealth, guaranteed pensions and combating tax evasion are the heart of the government reform proposal for the country’s social security system, argued Labor Minister Giorgos Katrougalos on Monday.

In an interview on the Praktorio 104.9 FM radio station, Mr. Katrougalos reiterated his claim that there will be no further cuts in main pensions and stressed that the aim for the social security reform is to intervene and provide social justice.

Furthermore, the Minister of Labor underlined the need for economic growth and noted that it can’t be just the employees who will bear the burden of the pension reform.

“We are trying to do two things at once; the serve the unemployed and created the conditions for economic growth” he added, while dismissing claims of pension cuts.
