The Minister of Labor, Social Insurance and Social Solidarity Giorgos Katrougalos gave a press conference on the imminent reform in the country’s pension system.
According to Mr. Katrougalos, he will have a greater degree of cooperation with the Alternate Minister of Finances Tryfon Alexiadis, since the critical pension reform and taxation must be addressed together.
Regarding the pension reform, the Labor Minister commented that there has been misinformation on the changes that are being planned and argued that the same rules will apply to all pensioners. Mr. Katrougalos underlined that “we are fighting against unemployment and struggling to restore collective agreements”.
During the press conference the Labor Minister also reiterated the coalition government’s commitment to tackling the major tax and contribution evasion problems.
