The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Government Vice President Evangelos Venizelos met on Monday afternoon in order to discuss the upcoming critical bills that must be passed in Parliament.
The two leaders agreed that improvements are required for the “mini DEI” bill that will be submitted for discussion in Parliament on Wednesday with Mr. Samaras accepting PASOK’s proposals regarding worker rights and social benefits.
Additionally, the two political leaders discussed the government’s overall plans regarding a series of prior actions that must be implemented in order to collect further bailout loan installments, as a number of New Democracy and PASOK MPs appeared reserved and threatened to vote against them.
Further proposals discussed include changes to the settlement of insurance debts, particularly for civil servants near the age of retirement, which will also be discussed with the Ministers of Labor, Administrative Reform and Finances.
