The Ministry of Finances has urged taxpayer to file their tax returns as soon as possible, as any potential delays may in turn cause further delays in collecting the social dividend and family benefits.

The announcement came as means of urging taxpayers to file their tax returns sooner rather than later, as only about 3.3 million of the country’s 5.5 million taxpayers have complied.

The deadline for the submission of tax returns and the social dividend expires at the end of June, with the coalition government concerned as fewer and fewer taxpayers comply each day.

In an effort to facilitate the tax office, the Ministry has clarified that the TAXISnet has the least amount of traffic between 9.30pm and 9.30am and between 2pm and 5pm.
