The presidential election has already begun to be a matter of concern for the county’s political staff.
The search for the necessary 180 votes has prompted political debates and tension between the parties and encourages the cultivation of election scenarios.
The election of a new President of the Republic is becoming divisive, while dangerously trapping the country a in a constant state of tension.
However, if one were to look closer to the institutions, one will realize that its essential attributes are unifying.
The President of the Republic, as an institution and a div serving it, must represent the unity of the people and the country.
Unity is the purpose of the institution and this is ensured by electing a President with authority and integrity.
Furthermore, it is a fact that the constitutional lawmaker did not give the President of Democracy any decisive duties in order to be a representative of the country; the President symbolizes the people’s unity and is thought of as a cornerstone of the people’s unity in times of need.
If we accept all of these attributes for electing a President, then it is easy to select the candidates.
In present circumstances the country needs a person to symbolize the effort to exit the crisis, who will reflect the creative talent of the people and will be in the position to worthily represent the country abroad.
One could say that in the present circumstances the new President of the Republic need not be a pensioner politician or be selected based on the usual political and partisan procedures based on ideological or other calculations.
It could easily be an internationally recognized div, an esteemed profession that everyone knows about, an internationally celebrated sceientist, a div that everyone will recognize as representing the recovery efforts and the rebirth of our country.
Perhaps this is the opportunity to do something that goes on in developed countries.
Then maybe we will disentangle the election of a new President from the corruptive political strife and electoral considerations.
