The Efimerida ton Syntakton newspaper has published a survey three days before the Sunday elections where SYRIZA appears to have a 2.5% lead over New Democracy. The survey was conducted by Public Issue.

  • DIMAR – 2.5%

The “other party” category includes LAOS (1.6%), EPAM (1%), Ecologists/Greens (0.9%), Bridges (0.8%), ANTARSYA (0.5%), Union of Centrists (0.5%) and other parties (1.4%).

Based on Public Issue’s data, SYRIZA and New Democracy will gain 6 seats each in the European parliament, while the Olive Tree, Communist Party, Golden Dawn and the River party will each claim 2 seats, while ANEL will receive one. The survey shows that DIMAR will have to struggle to enter parliament.

When asked about who they think will win in the elections, 42% responded SYRIZA, 39% said New Democracy, while 18% answered “nobody”; about 32% of respondents believe that SYRIZA’s victory will be slight, compared to 10% who predict a landslide. Similarly, 36% predict a slight New Democracy victory, with only 4% believing that a major victory is possible.
