The candidate of the European People’s Party for the presidency of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker is scheduled to visit the Ministry of Shipping, the Command Center of the Coast Guard and the Frontex base in Piraeus today.
According to the relevant announcements, Mr. Juncker will asked to be informed by Shipping Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, the chief of Coast Guard Athanasios Athanasopoulos and the Frontex officers on the efforts to tackle the escalating immigration problem.
The Minister of Public Order Nikos Dendias is also present at the meeting.
