A number of parents with children enrolled at the 6th elementary school in Lamia have arranged a ‘demonstration’ against the refugee students attending the school in the afternoon.
According to an article on the lamiareport.gr website, the parents who attended this demonstration did not allow their children to attend school. They claim that they are not occupying the school nor blocking anyone from entering the school. These demonstrators argue that the 40 additional students will cause problems
The parent and guardian association has issued a statement condemning the racist actions of these parents. The statement also underlines that the demonstration was arranged by parents who are not members of the association. Finally, the association notes that that it has no problem with refugee students attending their school.
