The main opposition party New Democracy has publicized its proposal for television licensing in order to replace the existing, controversial law that was recently found to conflict with the Constitution.
New Democracy’s proposal abolishes the existing law and its limitation on number of broadcasting licenses and reinstates powers back to the National Council for Radio and Television (ESR). The proposal also abolishes the bidding competition and replaces it with a set price for all licenses to be issued.
