In its latest study on the economic sentiment in Greece, the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOVE) documented a minor improved in September, which is bolstered by an improvement in consumer trust.

Specifically the Economic Sentiment Index grew 91.4 in September, from 90.9 in July and 83.8 last year. This improvement has been attributed to the growing expectations in all sectors as well as a distinct improvement in consumer trust, which had faltered since March, but has gradually improved.

This improvement reflects the return to normalcy in the economy and implementation of the adjustment program. The improvement of the economic sentiment was, however, held back by the additional tax burden affecting businesses and households alike. Although the improvement is not exceptional it reflects greater stability in the Greek economy.
