The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to instruct his ministers to complete a series of unresolved prior actions within September, at a Tuesday morning “mini” ministerial council meeting.

At stake is the next tranche of financial aid, worth 2.8 billion euros, which will be an invaluable cash injection to the domestic market. Collection of the tranche will in turn allow the second review to begin, the completion of which is necessary it launch talks on debt relief.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda will be the reforms in special payrolls (such as academics and uniformed officers), which will affect about 188,000 in the public sector. The government wants to avoid further cuts and as such will have save money from elsewhere.

Finally, the Prime Minister’s speech at the upcoming Thessaloniki International Fair will be discussed. It appears that PM Tsipras will focus on the government’s targets for equitable growth by 2019, along with highlighting the recent media reforms.

Friday’s conference with Mediterranean EU member-states in Athens will also be on the ministerial council’s agenda.
