The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will attend the meeting of EU socialist leaders, which is being held in Paris, as an observer. This will be the second time that the president of SYRIZA attends the socialist leaders’ meeting. The economy, welfare state, austerity, security and the refugee crisis will be at the top of the agenda.

According to reports the leaders and political leaders to attend the meeting include:

Austria’s new Chancellor Christian Kern, Portuguese PM António Luís Santos da Costa, Slovak PM Robert Fico, Estonian Minister of Health and Labour Jevgeni Ossinovski, Luxembourg’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn, Maltese Foreign Affairs Minister George William Vella, the President of the Belgian Socialist Party Elio Di Rupo, the Secretary General of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, the leader of the Dutch Labor Party (PvdA) Diederik Samsom and the President of the Party of European Socialists (PES) Sergei Stanishev.

The European Commission’s Vice President Frans Timmermans, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and the Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs Pierre Moscovici will also attend the meeting.
