Following Thursday evening’s event at the Acropolis Museum, where PM Alexis Tsipras outlined the Greek government’s plans for equitable growth, the opposition parties issued responses.
Main opposition party New Democracy argued that “growth and Tsipras do not go together” and charged the government with “losing 21 billion euros from the GDP” and drying out the market. The conservative party argued that growth may only come via reforms, slashing expenses, reducing taxes, attracting investments and supporting healthy competition.
PASOK president Fofi Gennimata commented that the Prime Minister held a media parade to repeat that same words over and over again and insisted that despite its intentions, the government is hostile towards investments. Mrs. Gennimata also claimed that the coalition government has failed in the social justice department.
The River dismissed the government plans “simple ideas” and responded that in order to maintain healthy and sustainable growth, serious investments from serious businesses are necessary. The centrist party further stressed that the recessionary climate will continue due to the statism and indecision among government officials.
