Two men on a motorcycle carried out a drive-by shooting in down town Athens at about 11:30. The victim was shot on Themistokleous street, near Exarchia Square and reportedly survived the attack and was rushed to the Red Cross hospital. However, despite doctor efforts, the man succumbed to his wounds.
Reports suggest that the man shot in the attack was of Arabian origin and had previously been implicated in drug trafficking. Police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the assailants.
