The coordinator of New Democracy’s constitutional review proposals Kostas Tasoulas presented a draft plan of nine reforms to party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The proposals being developed involve:
- Limiting the ability of calling early elections and introducing a 5-year term for Parliament
- Giving parliamentary minorities greater power
- Limiting the immunity for MPs, so that it only covers political actions
- Extending the powers of the President of the Hellenic Democracy
- Providing incentives for investments
- Bolstering the independence of the judiciary
- Abolishing the state monopoly in higher education
- Simplifying constitutional review procedures
- Streamlining the Constitution and abolishing bureaucratic provisions
