The Anonymous hacktivist group has claimed a cyber attack against the Bank of Greece, which resulted in the bank website going offline for about six hours on Tuesday.
According to the hacktivist group, the cyber DDoS attack against the Bank of Greece was part of #OpIcarus, which has targeted global corrupt financial institutes and organizations.
Furthermore the group reported that the Bank of Greece is the first ‘victim’, with similar attacks to be expected in Brazil,USA, UK, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran and India.
