The Government Council for Economic Policy, which convened on Monday under government VP Yannis Dragasakis, is aiming to submit its growth strategy plans to the institutions after the Easter holidays.

This decision came at the recommendation of Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis, since it is estimated that the bailout program review will conclude by the 15th of April.

The government plans include the formation of a Growth Council and Growth Fund and introducing legislation to encourage growth initiatives, such as modernizing public administration, improving competition and tackling unemployment.

According to Monday’s meeting, the main areas of focus will be the agriculture, manufacturing, construction and property management, energy, tourism, shipping, transport and logistics as well as IT and telecommunications.
