The Greek Parliament has planned a special ceremony to honor the Greek Jewish Martyrs and Heroes of the Holocaust, at 3pm on Wednesday, which is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
In 2004 the Greek Parliament unanimously decided to declare the 27th of January as the Day of Remembrance for the Greek Jews who perished in the Nazi concentration camps, as well as those who courageously saved their fellow citizens from certain death. The UN followed suit in 2005, on the 60th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust.
Greek Jewish Holocaust survivors will be the guest of honor in the special ceremony that will take place in Parliament.
