The head of the Eurogroup and Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem has asked the Eurozone member states to carry out more reforms, as the growth rate within the euro area is insufficient.
In the speech he delivered from the stand of European Forum in the Austrian town of Alpbach, the Eurogroup head argued that it was important to support the currency union both financially and politically.
As such, the Eurozone needs commitment to stay a competitive and strong partner for investments and trade, arguing that “we simply cannot aim for the average”.
Furthermore, the Dutch Finance Minister claimed that the situation in Greece did not harm the recovery in other euro area countries and underlined that Athens needs an “ambitious” implementation of its bailout program and political stability.
