The 55-year-old Giorgos Apostolopoulos, who is accused of acting as a middle man in the attempted bribery of Pavlos Haikalis, has denied all allegations of his involvement in the latest scandal.

In his deposition, Mr. Apostolopoulos [pictured] goes further and claims that he intended to trap Mr. Haikalis in order to confirm “his ethical and political mess” and highlight how far an active politician would go in putting his personal interests above the country.

Mr. Apostolopoulos claims that Mr. Haikalis had approached him looking for a deal in order to vote for a President.
