A 33 year-old man from Pakistan who is being held at the migrant detention center in Amygdaleza has been diagnosed with tuberculosis and has been transferred for treatment at the Sismanoglio Hospital.

The Hellenic Center of Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) has been informed of this development and has carried out tests to determine whether others who came into contact with the 33-year-old have been infected. The results are still pending.

Last month a number of police officers stationed at the Kato Patisia police station were found to be positive to the tuberculosis virus, with the Police’s healthcare committee and KEELPNO investigating the case.
