Leonidas Kavakos wins Gramophone’s “Artist of the Year” award

The British classical music publication Gramophone has awarded renowned violinist Leonidas Kavakos with its prestigious Artist of the Year award, in an award ceremony in London.

Kavakos thanked everyone who has supported him throughout his career and commented that this was “deeply touched” by the recognition and great distinction, as the award is often referred to as the “Oscar” of classical music.

The Greek audience will have the opportunity to see Kavakos at the Athens Concert Hall on the 14^th of October, where he will perform a selection of Brahms sonatas with Chinese classical pianist Yuja Wang.
