With the first major wave of summer vacationers about to hit Greek beaches, the Police is expected to increase its presence in an effort to increase security and deter illicit traders, after recent complaints of pickpockets and other scammers in tourist areas.

Aside from pick pockets though, the Police has already receive many car break-ins reports reported this summer, as parking areas are typically not visible from beaches. The police has also warned vacationers to take care and secure their homes before leaving.

Police officers will also be on the look out for unlicensed masseurs offering their services, as well as the solicitation of customers from tourist businesses and the illicit trade of counterfeit goods.
