The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras appeared in Tripoli over the weekend, as part of his tour to garner support for his party in the upcoming elections, where he claimed that a potential victory of the opposition party will be a setback for the country and will cause political instability.

In his speech the Prime Minister argued that should SYRIZA come to power, everything that the coalition government achieved would be at risk. Mr. Samaras’ intention is to galvanize support for his party, as polls show that a significant number of voters either remain undecided or intend the vote against the coalition government parties to “punish” them for the crisis.

As such, the Prime Minister intends to escalate the clash with the opposition in his election campaign, arguing that the people must choose “adventurism or stability”. While the PM speaks of a New Democracy victory in the upcoming elections, polls consistently show SYRIZA coming on top, urging the PM to make voters “reconsider” the meaning of the opposition party winning.
