Since the modern Olympic Games began in 1896, Greek athletes have managed to win a total of 115 medals.

Between the 1896 Games in Athens and 2012 Games in London, a total f 1,317 athletes (978 men and 339 women) have represented Greece. The 2004 Games in Athens had the largest number of Greek athletes (436), with representation in all sports, except for hokey.

According to official statistics the 1896 Games have been the most successful for Greece, with 50 medals, followed by the 2004 Games in Athens with 16 and 2000 Games in Sydney with 13.
