The Coast Guard has announced that the flow of refugees towards Piraeus has reduced, with the last official estimates indicating that about 4,500 are currently there.

The Blue Star 1 ferry boat is expected to reach the port on Thursday morning transferring 78 refugees from Chios and Lesvos, while the Diagoras will arrive at noon with just 2 refugees from Rhodes.

As of Wednesday the Army has begun distributing 5,000 portions of food to the refugees who have set up camp in the port of Piraeus. The Church of Greece will also contribute as of Monday. The Red Cross will also distribute food and personal hygiene products.

Meanwhile the Bar Association of Piraeus has take the initiative to provide refugees with the necessary information on legal documents and procedures on how to return to their country of origin and the temporary accommodation centers.
