An emergency council meeting of the EU’s Interior Minister has been called for Thursday (4pm local time). The meeting, which was revealed by Reuters, was called at the initiative of the Dutch presidency.

A similar EU meeting had also been called after the terrorist attacks that took place in Paris earlier in November.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of France Manuel Valls underlined the need for greater protection of the European Union’s external borders, in light of the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels.
