A 23-year-old student from Volos, who is studying architecture at the University of Athens has been seriously injured in a traffic incident in Freginals, in the province of Tarragona, northeastern Spain. A second Greek student who was also on the bus was unharmed and in good health.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the student was on board a bus with other students in the Erasmus program. She is currently being hospitalized in Barcelona and her parents are en route to Spain.

The bus was carrying students on the Erasmus exchange program from an excursion to Valencia back to Barcelona on Sunday. Reports suggest that the bus overturned and collided with another vehicle. In total 14 passengers were killed and 43 were injured.
